The Simien Mountain massif is a broad plateau, cut off to the north and west by an enormous single crag over 60 kilometers long. To the south, the tableland slopes gently down to 2,200 meters, divided by gorges 1,000 meters deep which can take more than two days to cross. Insufficient geological time has elapsed to smooth the contours of the crags and buttresses of hardened basalt.
Within this spectacular splendor live the Walia (Abyssinian) ibex, Simien red fox and Gelada baboon – all endemic to Ethiopia – as well as the Hamadryas baboon, klipspringer and bushbuck. Birds such as the lammergeyer, augur buzzard, Verreaux’s eagle, kestrel and falcon also soar above this mountain retreat.

In the morning after breakfast drive to Simien Mountains National Park after 100km arrive to Debark the head quarter to escort the local guide and scout then further drive and start trek to Sankaber (2-3hrs), the Simien Mts. In the morning after breakfast Trek Sankaber to Geech (5-6hrs) en route view and admire the endemic Gelada Baboonand the spectacular scenery, overnight Geech camping.
After a relaxed breakfast Continue trekking the peaks of Imet GoGo and Saha (5-6 hrs) to see the dramatic view of the Simien Mountain National Park. Then Trek back, overnight Geech camping.
Early in the morning after breakfast Trek Geech- Chenek (8-9 hrs) on the way observing the endemic Walia Ibex and the breathtaking rock formation of the UNESCO heritage national park, overnight Chenek Camping
Early in the morning Trek Chenek- Bwahit Ras the second highest pick in the park (4430m) to see the breathtaking view of the landscape and observe endemic Walia Ibex then trek back meet the car at Chenek base camp drive back to Gonder on the way visit the Felasha Village (Ethiopia Jews) late afternoon arrival to Gonder, overnight hotel.
Morning after breakfast transfer to the airport fly back Addis Ababa, PM arrival at Addis and free time evening farewell cultural dinner in traditional restaurant with live ethnic music and dance then transfer to the airport for your departure.
